Cross stitch Blue Button 'A'

Cross stitch Blue Button 'A'
I have continued to stitch up patterns from my Etsy store in the last few days. I decided to stitch up the Blue button 'A' for my nephews first Birthday. I love the muted blue colour pallet on the parchment Aida. It gives it an aged heirloom quality to the design.

With all my patterns from Etsy you can instantly download them so there is no waiting around for delivery or postage to pay. It means you can get stitching straight away, which is great if you have got a last minute gift to make.

The fancy 'A' I fell didn't sit right hen I tried to frame it normally and I didn't have a hoop the right size either. So I decided to make it in to a wall hanging instead. I need to push myself into using my stitching in new ways as I tend to end up with a pile of unfinished projects waiting to get put to use. Which is such a shame when you consider how much time went into the making of them.

To make the pattern into a wall hanging, I first stitched the Aida right sides together onto a piece of hand dyed blue denim. I then turned it the right way round and inserted two hanging loops of ribbon, which were already around the hanger. I then top stitched all around the piece o finish it off and secure the hanging loops. I am really pleased with it and I know my sister in law liked it too.
