Free cross stitch pattern, coffee pot

I don't know about you, but in our house our weekend revolve around hot beverages. Whether your a tea or coffee drinker, it always seems to be 'Who's putting on the kettle?' or 'Would you like another cup?'. So I came up with this quick and easy, fun, coffee pot pattern.

It'll look great stitched up and framed in the kitchen. Change the colour to suit your own look, but whatever you do, don't forget to put the kettle on.

Spoonflower design competition - The year of the Monkey

Do you know Spoonflower? It's a great website which allows you to design and print your own fabric. It is also a great place to shop for unique and original designed fabric as many of the designers list their work in their own little store. I have a store on Spoonflower and would love it if you took a look.

They also run a weekly design competition and I love to take part as it often make me design things I wouldn't normally draw.

The latest competition is entitled The year of the monkey.

It asked you to create a pattern to celebrate the Chinese new year. The year of the Monkey.

I went for a simple repeating design and think it would look great at soft furnishing fabric for a New babies Nursery.

What do you think?
If you like my design please pop over to Spoonflower and vote for me.

Free cross stitch pattern 'I'm Batty for you' Funny Valentine

I'm not one for soppy cards and hardly celebrate Valentine's day. But I do love a good play on words and I love to give my Husband silly cards for any occasion. So with that in mind, here is a cute Bat themed Valentines card. It's not very large just 50 x 50 on 14 count aida, so it's perfect to stitch up in a night and make into a card.

Art Nouveau inspired prints

I really love the Art Nouveau movement, with it's rich colours and use of florals it sums up what textile design is all about for me. Inspired by the Art Nouveau movement and the work of William Morris I created this small set of art prints.
All of these designs are available to buy on fabric from my Spoonflower Store and my Woven Monkey store for those of you in the U.K.

Alternatively they are also available on a whole range of products from the print on demand stores Redbubble, Zazzle and Society 6.

Finally if you really want to be coordinating you download for free this flower pattern from my blog or purchase the embroidery design along with a whole lot of other floral designs from my Etsy Store.

Vintage pastel bird prints

Here is my latest Spring time fabrics and Print on demand collection. Pastel birds. It features a range of classic bird silhouettes and uses a fresh Spring time pallet. I do love the white crane print featured here but the other designs have pleased me too. A great collection set for the return of the sun!

Water inspired abstract art

I have been finding and sorting lots of my archived design work recently and I thought I would focus on some abstract 'water' themed work that I found. With Spring on it's way I find myself draw to blues and greens and find them a refreshing change to all the gaudy colours of Christmas and New Year.
