Mixed berry and Maca breakfast smoothie

Sometimes, the morning just feels like it has escaped me and before you know it, we are meant to be heading out of the door to get on with our days. On mornings like this, I like to have something for my breakfast that I can grab and take with me if needed. This is why I do love a smoothie.

This smoothie recipe is one of my favourites and includes Maca which is full of B2 and great for dealing with tiredness and fatigue, which I can often get when recovering from being glutened. The recipe only has a few ingredients and can whizzed up in a matter of minutes. I have some plastic smoothie glasses with lids and fitted straws, so they can be taken in the car to drink on the school run.

This recipe will make three generous glasses of smoothie.

You will need:

·         1 banana,

·         100g mixed frozen berries,

·         1 heaped teaspoon Maca powder,

·         500ml of Vita coco milk,

·         optional 1 teaspoon maple syrup to sweeten.

·         Smoothie maker

·         3 glasses

Straws

1.       Let the mixed berries defrost a little, unless you have a very strong smoothie maker.

2.       Add all the ingredients and mix until smoothie.

3.       Taste and add Maple syrup if not sweet enough

4.       Enjoy straight away for a great start to the day.

    1. It's worth a try. Plus Maca doesn't have the bitter taste of some other supplements.
