Review for Hape*
We love wooden toys in our house, I know I do especially. I love the feel of them in my hands, the warmth they give and the nostalgia they conjure in my mind for a simpler childhood. Which is why I am always drawn to them when making purchases for the little ones in my life.
With a growing extended family and my friends all making babies, there is always plenty of opportunities to buy for the little ones. So we were pleased when we were asked to review Hape’s new Lucky Ladybird and Friends train. The perfect addition to the Jungle friends set my youngest already has. You can read my review of Hape’s Jungle train set here.
It really is a sweet little train and is perfect for both boys and girls. I know some trainsets can aim themselves purely at boys but I know girls love them just as much. You get three little trains, the ladybird leads the way, then a bee and a butterfly. All painted in a bright colour scheme they are a delight for little eyes.
I am big fan of sensory play and have written a few posts on it when my youngest was smaller. One of my favourites was how to make rainbow rice. Sensory play is just what small minds need as they learn thought their experiences in the world. Through, sounds, touch taste and smell. The little ladybird comes with a rattle inside and the bee and butterfly have crinkly wings perfect for little fingers to scrunch.
The trains are linked by magnets making a good learning experience too. Understanding which sides join and developing motor skills. Cute, colourful and educational. The perfect gift for an 18th Month old.
I was sent the Hape Ladybird and friend train in exchange for my honest review. You can also read my advertising and disclosure policy.
