Tasty Thursday # 12 – recipe for Chilli con carne

Happy Independence day. To celebrate I thought I’d share my recipe for Chilli.

Chilli con
carne

200g
minced beef or quorn mince

1
onion

215g
tin of red kidney beans

2
tbsp oil

1
pepper

1
stock cube

400g
tin of tomatoes

1
tsp chilli powder

Equipment

Large
saucepan, medium saucepan, wooden spoon, chopping board, knife, sieve, tsp,
tbsp

 

Method

1.            
peel and chop onion, chop pepper into small pieces

2.           
add oil to medium saucepan, add onions and fry for 2 mins.

3.           
add mince and fry until brown

4.           
add peppers and cook until soft

5.           
drain kidney beans and add to beef

6.           
add tomatoes, crumbled stock cube, chilli powder, bring to
the boil and simmer for 25 mins.
