Handmade card ideas – embossed garden design

I wanted to share this design with you as I’m not quite sure about it. It was my first attempt at embossing and although that has gone well. I don’t feel it’s an overall success. Maybe it’s the pink? I’m not much of a pink fan. Perhaps you will disagree with me or perhaps offer a way to improve? I’ve posted how to make it on the read more link, if you like the design and fancy recreating it. If you do have a go at making this design, please Facebook me with some pics I’d love to see them.

  1. To make the card, I first made an A5 folded card using pink cardstock.
  2. Then I embossed the right edge with a zig zag pattern and trim that edge along the pattern.
  3. Then I added a self adhesive ribbon along the revealed white card on the right hand edge. (I love this ribbon as it has tiny pearl beads stuck on it)
  4. Then I punched a square of pale pink card and glued this in place near the bottom of the card.
  5. Using the pink card I cut a flowerpot shape out and embossed dots along the top edge and a wavy line below.
  6. I mounted this on top of the pale pink square.
  7. Finally I added some flowers, stems, leaves and a butterfly from a glittery sticker pack.
