Sensory play was something I hadn’t heard of until I had my youngest. Of course my eldest had played with the sandpit and had done water play but he hadn’t explored them in a way that really stimulated him. My youngest on the other had has really enjoyed sensory play and one of his most favorite activities is rice.
I have found it very easy to colour and recently we have taken to using it to explore a rainbow of colours.
By grouping objects that match the colour rice we have created some very stimulating play having unusual combinations of toys and cookery equipment means both him and myself have been more challenged in how we interacted with them
