As you can see it needs a bit more organisation, as I only have a small space to work in and this is where I try and do all my design, admin and textile work. I have one large desk that is mainly taken up by my computer and one small desk where I keep my sewing machine. Pictured bottom left of the next photo.
My youngest has now settled into doing mornings at Nursery, so I am now making the change to being more work at home mum than stay at home mum. Whatever either of those mean! To go with this new mind-set and the two and half hours work time I have ever weekday morning. I decided to get my workspace in order.
Obviously is isn’t the ideal place to try and sew but I do recognise how lucky I am to have my own space to work in as I know so many other fellow crafters have to make do with the corner of the sofa. (I do that as well)
So far here are my attempts at getting organised. I have sorted buttons, beads and ribbon jars.
And filled my old printer frames with my current works and inspirations.
I have started a little ongoing works wall to show off some of my embroidery.
Finally my books are getting a bit of a reorganisation into fiction and reference.
When I get time I now I’m going to have to do some more but it’s starting to feel more productive in here already!
Do you have your own workspace? I’d love to get inspired by others, share your pics with me on my facebook or twitter pages.
