Songmics Ottoman review and giveaway

Post in collaboration with Songmics*

Storage has long been a problem in my kids bedrooms. It seems that no matter how much they have their stuff seems to spill from it. In a tidal wave of toys I can often find myself swept away in despair as I pick my way through their rooms to get to open the curtains or put clothes in drawers. With my eldest it’s lego. Bain of many a mums poor feet, in my youngest’s room it cuddly toys! I’m sure they are breeding as there seems to be more of them each day.

The Songmics storage solution.

Now the floor in youngest’s room has become clear, all the cuddly toys are safely packed away. It’s a trip free walk for me to get through his room now.  It’s amazing how many of them I can squish in.

When I asked if I’d like to review the Songmics Folding Storage Ottoman. I had two thoughts. What’s an ottoman? and do we really need one? A quick google search later. I discovered an ottoman is a great storage idea that also doubles as a handy set. Answer to question two – yes we do need one!

I am so please with how well it fitted into youngest’s pink room. It matches is silvery grey curtains and makes a great seat by the side of his bed. Quick to assemble it robust enough to take my bum and now I don’t have to sit on the floor when it’s story time.

Also if you haven’t already heard me go on about how much I love a chuck box for toys, this makes tidying before bed time a whizz. All the cuddly toys can be picked up and dumped in, then squidged down under the lid for the night. Even they boys enjoy chucking them in.

  1. This is a great idea – everything looks so neat and tidy and it fits in really well with the bedroom! I have one that’s getting a bit old and tired now so will be entering the giveaway! Thanks for linking to #Blogstravaganza

  2. This is lovely and wold look just perfect at the end of my bed for storing blankets x x Thanks for the chance to win x x

  3. This is lively and would so handy for bedding as I have a real issue with storage and this would get it out of my clothing wardrobe

  4. This would look so good at the end of my bed, I just redecorated and this would look perfect. I would also use it for blankets and bedding.

  5. I would use it for spare bedding and winter clothes – jumpers and sweatshirts take up way too much room in the drawers :o)

  6. I think I’d use it as a games chest – something I’ve always wanted! I love board games but (at the risk of sounding really snobby) the boxes are so ugly so it would be lovely to put them all in one (stylish) place!

  7. I’d use mine for alll the bits and pieces that need putting away when you’re having a tidy up,I have one similar that I use at the moment in my bedroom.

  8. I would keep it in the hall. Now I`m in that age when need to sit down to put my shoes/boots up. I could hide all the throws, blankets and bedspreads in it that live on top of our wardrobe. This would be perfect.

  9. I would probably hide all my craft supplies in there. i’ve just started to learn crochet and theres wool EVERYWHERE #craftoholic

  10. My little girls winter clothes (when its not winter of course) they are bulky and take up too much room in her drawers . Plus its a really nice colour so would look good in her room.

  11. I’d have it in my living room (we’re about to do a big re-decorate) and I’d store all my soft blankets in there – perfect for snuggling on the sofa during the colder months.

  12. I’ll go with your idea of soft toys! My youngest has them on rotation in a big ugly plastic storage box on top of her wardrobe. This is a MUCH better solution!

  13. I’d use it to store guest bedding and towels, etc. so it was all together in one place. Any spare space would be used for spare regular bedding.

  14. I’m not sure, it would look great in my bedroom, so if I put it there it would be filled with bedding and towels. But we could do with some toy storage in the lounge, so I would have to see where it looked best.

  15. I think this would be a great place to store some of our board games. It would free up space on our book shelf so we could move some more books out of our cupboard under the stairs.

  16. I would store books in my ottoman if I won, as my partner is constantly complaining about my vast collection taking up floor space in the bedroom!

  17. I’d keep this in my living room and would use it to keep my dog’s blankets, cushions & towels. She has more stuff than I know what to do with it and goes through them so quickly especially in autumn & winter so I need them on hand!
