I hate January and this one has been no exception. Cold, wet and miserable I finally gave in to the cold I’d avoided over Christmas. I just feel like hibernating. So whilst hiding under a duvet it’s been perfect to get on with January blogging. The month was slow to start but it picked up nearer the end and my stats has started to improve again. Plus I’ve had paid work and I can see how I’m slowly chipping away at my year long goals.
Views 3234 these are on the way up from the December slump. Hosting the fist giveaway of the year has helped.
Twitter followers 5581 up 59, I’m really pleased with this. Slow and steady growth. Love to get to 6000 by May.
Pinterest followers 1383, up 10. Not sure how to attract more followers, but I’ll continue to tidy boards and pin better images.
Facebook likes 765 up 11. The scheduling is working well and I have posted one very small video of myself.
Instagram followers 1597 up 39. Have nearly posted once a day. Trying to ‘theme’ my Instagram a bit better.
HIBS 100 ranking 263 up 54 places. (Little happy dance)
My January blogging Goals were:
To stay on top of my planned posts. I have done this! Posting every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
To focus on my Facebook page increasing the following by 5%. Not there just yet, more like 2% but I’m not complaining.
Work on creating one video to post on my blog and page. Yes! I did this, in fact I’ve created two.
Continue to re-purpose and update old content. Three posts a week. I’ve have kept on top of this and have installed a recipe plugin to improve my old posts.
My New year goals were:
Stick to my planning. On track!
Focus on paid work for my blog. After a slow start to the month, I’ve picked up four pieces of paid work.
Grow my social media following on all channels by the end of the year by 20%. I’m just short of 1% this month.
My February goals are:
- Stick to my planning schedule.
- Cross promote my platforms. Add tweets in my social Oomph reservoir for my shops.
- Buy a light box. (Hating the grey days for taking photos)
