Returns – A Shoppers Nightmare

These days I will admit, I hardly ever go to the shops to do my shopping. Being pushed for time and combined with the fact that I normally have two miserable looking boys trailing after me if I dare to go in a ‘ladies shop’ means I have turned more and more to shopping online. But have you ever tried to return anything when you’ve bought it online. It can be a shoppers nightmare.

Previously when I’ve bought things from the shops I might have had to wait to the next weekend to return it. But once there at the customer service desk, it’s been a quick and painless task to get it returned. The girl or guy at the counter has been happy to take it back with little fuss. I’ve got my card credited back and I’m off on my merry way.

Compared that with my experiences of trying to return things to say Amazon for example and it’s been a very different experience. I’ve emailed and waited for responses. Emailed again. Then had to re package, head off to the post office and wait a while for credit. That’s been on a good day!

Wouldn’t it be so much easier if you could just speak to someone?

Then you can talk through your options. Such as keeping the product in its original packaging, exchanges, your rights and arranging delivery or collection.

If you have ever struggled to get a response from Very for example. You can easily find their number on their website. Then you can ring and talk to an actual person and get your return sorted. Not so much of a shoppers nightmare after all.
